big change
So last night I thought even harder about maybe joining the Air Force or the Navy. It's always been in the back of my mind. But I never liked the fact I wouldn't really be able to be gay. But I would like to do it, and my mom and dad are amazingly enough okay with it. I'm not even sure yet, I called the air force recruiter, talking about my options with her. She was friendly enough. I still have no idea what I'm gunna do though. I can't really do anything till I'm 17 anyways. So I'll probably just get into better shape until then. I think my girlfriend has bigger issues with it than I do. =/

you know even if the recruiter specifically says you won't have to go into combat, you still might? I saw a documentary about it.

I'm personally 100% liberal,
I'm personally 100% liberal, but believe so much in people who are willing to risk their lives for their country. I think it's a great form of patriotism. If you want to do it, go for it! But most of all let it be your decision, there are a lot of people on both sides, conservative and liberal, who feed potential recruits lies about the armed forces. Just do a lot of research and if it looks right for you enlist.
I don't like that you want
I don't like that you want to join the armed forces, mainly because (1) war is evil and (2) I think this country is doing the wrong thing regardless of how I feel about war in general. But if it's really what you want, there's no stopping you, so good luck with whatever path you choose. I hope you don't die.
(Oh gosh, I sound like a parent whose kid has just come out to them. LOL @ irony.)
