Cadavers: Not the best school trip

Toph's picture

I'm in Anatomy and Physiology. We're dissecting a cat, and at first I was queasy but now I'm used to it. It's just when we look at the veins and arteries that I start to feel sick. Well, it's not quite the same with dead human bodies.

Today we went to PSU to see the dissected cadavers. Well, it was horrible. It was interesting, but I got so queasy. To add to my uneasy stomach, the professor started tugging at the veins and arteries. Oh, it was unbearable. And all the muscles were black. The head/face was split in two. Her skin was pulled off and folded to be put to the side. And watching all of this I became dizzier and queasier. To add to it, I'm sick. I have an infection in my lungs (and I have asthma), so I'm very short of breath.

Oh, sorry for complaining so much, but I feel horrible. I think it's a combination of my cold with the queasy image of the shriveled, skinned old lady in my mind. I was hardly able to eat today. Gosh, I really do hope I get a little better tomorrow. It's the band trip tomorrow! And if I don't go all my money goes to waste; it's nonrefundable. Oh, I need to sleep to get better, but it hurts my lungs to lay down. Well, I guess I have to hope for the best.

Thanks for reading.
