I hate my job. All they ever do is harass me for being gay. Why can't I ever just go somewhere where being gay doesn't matter?
What assholes! Isn't there a law about discrimination in the workplace? That isn't right.. there has to be something you can do but I don't know much about it myself.
Well, your company has sexual preference in its non-discrimination clause, so you have a case if it's really bad:
"Speedway SuperAmerica LLC gives full consideration for employment to all qualified individuals regardless of race, color, gender, age, sexual preference, national origin, religion, disability, or veteran status."
"Be like a postage stamp. Stick to one thing until you get there." -- Josh Billings.

I have been to HR to report what has been going on, and mentioned the orientation non-discrimination clause, as well as the Federal Equal Access Act, and all HR says is that this has become a "he-said, she-said" case and that there is nothing they can do about it. It has gotten to the point where I actually dread going to work, and if I didn't have tuition and hospital bills to pay, I would just up and quit my job. As it is, I am actively seeking a new job.
Easy enough. I have a crazy neighbor downstairs, so I leave my digital voice recorder right near the front door. Next time, he'll be documented. :-)
Well, the most ironic thing happened last night. One of the people who had been harassing me the most... Andrea... got caught in the act of harassing me by none less than the president of Speedway and was instantly fired last night! :) The other person who has been a major harasser (Michelle, my manager) is about to find herself one more person short, because I have an interview with the BP down the street, for a position that pays $2 more per hour!
