hey ya'll! It's me AGAIN!!!

look im doing an assingment well rather a speech for English, and my topic is GLBT in society.

I was wondering could you give me any help- and or ideas?

these are my topics... can i have your opinions please?

1st Draft.

Very few of you are going to understand the term GLBT. So I will define the word for you. GLBT simply stands for Gay-Lesbian-Bisexual-Transsexual. It has been shortened to the four-letter word for many obvious reasons

Now that you know what GLBT stands for, I’m going to talk about how there should be more widespread education and awareness of the GLBT people in our community, to prevent cruel treatment and prejudice against these people.

so now im stuck on ideas for what to write next.

my topics that my teacher wants me to cover is everything and anything in these catorgories.

-Gay marriage
-Gay adoption
-Gay vs. Homophobes.
-Gay vs. religon.
-Gay vs. society
-Gay vs. how people react and such ie --> denial, indiference, ect...

being gay to me was.....

All we want is to be equal to those regarded as normal. I dont know much about being gay all i know is that in 2002 I asked someone how she knew she was gay... She thought I was going to give her a God and gay speech but I ws really asking for my own personal reasons... anyways I am dating that girl now its almost been a year. We have discussed adoption but would rather prefer artificial insemanation.
Marraige isnt an option but it was discussed like any other couple gay people would like to spend their lives with the people they love and want to grow old with those people. and have equal rights too.
My family are homophobes... lol most parents and family members are.
I remember my mother worrying about my brother being gay. I think I hid it well I even had myself fooled for years.
but when i started dating my partner I never hid our relationship away from anyone.
I was a nervous reck. My mother took it hard and as any parent would. I think its just dificcult for a parent to accept change you know?
I had people telling me "I dont want to be your friend coz GOD....etc"
I'm fine with that.
I think maybe I'm drifting off the subject
Well when I first started dating my partner I asked her what you are asking now. She couldnt answe all she said was "you'll see"
I was amazed at how some people accepted but as for my family well I feel like an outcast now even though they trying really hard to play pretend and act as if its ok...AT least they trying right?
We are normal people with feelings and needs like everybody else...
nothing is different besides the gender of the person they chose to date...
We all love the same hurt the same...etc
as I said the only differance is that we love those of our own gender

For marriage discuss where gay marriage is allowed and where it isn't allowed what else is allowed (civil union or whatever it's called).
Under adoption you could talk not only about adoption but about other options couples have or learn about the typical adoption process for gay couples (at home visits etc.) or if it's the child is not from this country the cost. Or things like the upsdie and downside of adopting.

maybe w/ gay marriage talk about how it is legalised in africa (an under developed nation in many respects) but not in many developed nations. come at it from a personal perspective.
