Benediction

Inkblot's picture

This was written after/during a bout of severe depression and bitterness. You were warned.

Benediction

Stories like mine do not get told
Boys like me do not grow old
Pain like mine is never seen
In novel, song or silver screen
Amen
Say it again
Amen

Chains like mine must go unbroken
Words like mine must go unspoken
No heart like mine should e'er be filled
Blood like mine is justly spilled
Amen
Say it again
Amen

Songs like mine shall not be sung
Work like mine is best undone
Wounds like mine must grow infected
Just punishment for those affected
Amen
Say it again
Amen

Eyes like mine must be unshut
Strings like mine must be uncut
Love like mine must go unsated
Truth like mine must go unstated
Amen
Say it again
Amen

This is so good, sometimes a bout of depression produces the best poetry.

it would be a great song,

it would be a great song, but its an amazing poem too!

Never be afraid to stand up for whats right. If you lose your values, you've lost yourself, so dont let someone change you into someone you arnt. Don't be afraid of the punishment, Rejoyce in the freedom that let to it.

Not to be creepy, but I

Not to be creepy, but I thought this was damn good, so I clicked your profile, and it took me to your blog, which had other damn good poetry, and I just thought I'd let you know.. you're a damn good writer. :)
Feel better, although it did say written after/during depression, implying that said bout of depression did, in fact, end. If it's back though, feel better.
PS: I feel dumb for not knowing the word unsated. Sigh. ;P
