So this is a new song by trivium, off of their new album, but I couldn't really figure out the message that the badn was tryign to put out there through the lyrics...I kinda thought it was like declaring war on the invisible enemy of racism, homophobia and sexism...I don't know though. what is your intepretation?

1. Ignition

Raise the guns
At every self-made suspicion
Build the bombs
Corrupt policy's decision

That's the sound of integrity breaking its back
In a country founded as a thievery act

Raise the guns
At every self-made suspicion
Build the bombs
Corrupt policy's decision

Times are dark with our children spoon-fed ignorance
Inheritance of an anxious trigger finger

Raise the guns
At every self-made suspicion
Build the bombs
Corrupt policy's decision

Our leaders preach if we disagree
We're the traitors of society
Homophobia, racism, sexism
Our system breed supremacy

[x2]
Ignition
Inception
Burning is a fuse to destruction
Break the walls of ignorance
To disarm the world for its last chance

Time again for a war
On an enemy that isn't real
Greedy selfish warlords
Feed the agenda, death's the meal

[Solo: Matt]

That's the sound, impending far crawling up your spine
In a country where nothing its truly made clear

Raise the guns
At every self-made suspicion
Build the bombs
Corrupt policy's decision

Our leaders preach if we disagree
We're the traitors of society
Homophobia, racism, sexism
Our system breed supremacy

[x2]
Ignition
Inception
Burning is a fuse to destruction
Break the walls of ignorance
To disarm the world for its last chance

:: america and the uk ::

These lyrics make me think of America and the UK. Issues such as going to war with Iraq over WMD's and evidence of them which never existed. The media, particularly the US media, feeding people with fear over nothing...over paranoia. It makes me thing of the Western media and leaders feeding the young generations of these countries with reasons to hate others....and each other....reasons.....which don't really exist.

p.s - think Michael Moore type stuff.....Bowling for Columbine, Farenheight 9/11 (sorr about the spelling) etc

My lesbianism is an act of Christian charity. All these women out there praying for a man, and i'm giving them my share. - RMB

Political

Honestly, I think this is a pure political statement. Sort of like a... Bush-bashing, but I think it's going so far as an attempt to bash pretty much Republicans.

"Time again for a war
On an enemy that isn't real
Greedy selfish warlords"

That pretty much a statement about "oil-hungry Republicans" going into Iraq.

But yes, it also seems like a rant against bigotry. You can also see the reference to slavery:

In a country founded as a thievery act

It can also be seen as a call to anarchy:

Raise the guns
At every self-made suspicion
Build the bombs
Corrupt policy's decision

That's just my 2 cents.

Nah, I doubt it...

This band is made up of mostly conservative people and their lyrics are rarely politically charged...I think this may be their first album that is.
