Wow, not really finding my groove here out in the suburbs. Oddly enough, though, the stuff I'm not finding time to do is the stuff I thought would be the majority of my time (watching DVDs, seeing movies, etc.).
I'm such an urban boy. I can't get used to having to jump in a car to do everything. It seems so far and time-consuming to do everything from running to the gym to buying groceries, even if in San Francisco I have to carry them home in my backpack.
In Pennsylvania through January 9, at which point Oasis becomes my focus again. I guess it not launching until right before I came here for the holidays was good in that there was no momentum as of yet to worry about, so when I am back in SF, I can figure out how to grow the site and make it fun for everyone.
So, a few more DVD reviews while I'm here, at least one more Broadway review, but most of the fun will kick in starting January.
Hope everyone had a good holiday. Mine is entirely stress-free and, unlike my visit in June/July, I'm not running to the gay bar every 2-3 days. I think that happened last time because I flew here the day after gay pride, so I didn't have time to adapt from being surrounded by hundreds of thousands of gays to... none on a daily basis.
Going to a gym here that seems to have old fat guys and young redneck jailbait (well, OK, that's a little hot), but the whole place has a patriotic theme (there's a God Bless America sign over the bottled water, etc.). So, lipsyncing through my elliptical is a bit restrained, but not entirely, since otherwise the workout seems longer. The upscale gym here charges me a lot more money for a mini-membership, but it might be worth it.
Otherwise, just seeing friends, family, lots of dinners out, which is pretty much what a vacation should be.
