let's take over an island.

so, i've decided, we should all pool our money and take over an island. we'll make it queer island, we can have our own monetary system, our own educational system, people can board at schools where they don't have to worry about straight roommates, everything can be gender neutral (and to all the cynics out there, shut up, this is dream world, i'm taking a break from the reality where this would be sooo problematic on so many levels). it would be awesome. if your gaydar sucked, it wouldn't matter, everyone would be gay. and for those of us who don't show up on most people's gaydars, it would be awesome, because for once we'd get action too, instead of having the people who don't know us give us "do you know where you are" looks at lgbt events. i also propose much singing and frolicking on this island. yay for music. who's in?

I love the idea. One problem, the children produced on the island well more then likely turn out straight, and over time, the island will lose its gay touch, as much as it hurts me to say. Since we will need to repopulate to keep the island alive, and well lets just say most of the kids born will be breeders.

I doubt many kids would be born on the island, but it'd be well-advertized, so lots of kids who were born outside of the island would be queer and come over.

Singing and frolicking sounds fun. Can I be the Senator of Frolicking?

In response to CaliDude, we could remedy the threat of straight people overcoming the island. We could be a secret island, like the people in The Village that thought there lives were normal, when in reality it was far different than the surrounding world.

Or, the straight kids would grow up the minority. They will grow up being the odd ones. They'd think themselves different from the other children. But, on the island we could teach equality and that gender and sexuality ultimately don't matter, and that they are only anatomical differences for reproductive reasons. That way everyone loves and accepts eachother.

Such a wonderful dream :D

but what about the bisexuals? it would be weird for someone to hint on someone of the opposite gender

Sure, I'd go. I wonder, though, would history repeat itself? Would we, like the hetero sexuals of today, begin descriminating against any staight people there? Just a though. Also, I don't think the island's population would mantain itself lol.
