It doesn't bother me when the person isn't a native english speaker. I know you guys try. There are some things that you can pick up from reading. If you know how to spell them, I encourage you to do so. I tend to overlook the fact that not everyone types as fast as I do and doesn't always have the time to type out long words and such.
But if you have the time, consider spelling things the way they should be spelled. For one, It makes you look more intelligent.
I don't pretend to be the greatest grammer freak either. I make mistakes. I mispell words like tommarrow all the time. I never remember that Alot is actually A lot.

But it still bugs me..Especially in something that will be staying on the front page of websites. Not only does it look bad, but it makes oasis look like its filled with illiterates. Which is discouraging to new members(especially writers) who want to find a nice GLBT nook that they can share their writing in. The Poll is up there...on every page..

Im not trying to bash anyone or make anyone mad. But it isn't rocket science.

what if you dont know how to spell? im dislexic, i cant spell to save my life and i must say its a bitch to check every single word to see if they're all right. i think that bashing people who find it difficult to spell is not a way to encourage people to write at oasis. Also, the english language doesn't have to be spelled correctly to get the point or meaning across, and that's the important part.

why is spelling important? if you think that ignorance is a big deal, then it can be for you, but keep in mind that it's not for others. im not a fan of intolerance.
