Uhh, hello to everyone, I guess, if I have to.

I came to this website to try to become more involved. Below is my introduction/biography. I hope this works...

Soo... I came out to one of my parents (they're divorced), but by the end of the summer I hope to have almost everyone up to speed on all of that. I've known since, well, a long time. I really can't come out to my school, because it's in rural (ultra-) conservative-republican Iowa, and they would beat me, kill me, burn me at the stake and such. My other goal for the summer is to make a friend or two through this site so that I can keep up on the gay community or... yeah. This is still quite new to me, and I'm not used to knowing if 'gay community' is politically correct. But you know what I mean. I feel like little-retard-kid-who-can't-function-in-the-proper-social-environment. I just feel lost. And maybe lonely (does that sound tragic enough?). So, that's a fairly accurate portrayal of my feelings right now. Look for it in a journal in the next day or so.

By the way, hello everybody!

Welcome to the site...

Just chill out, read other people's journals, post about your life and everything will sort itself out easily enough. Nothing to worry about...

PC! Pshaw.

I wouldn't worry too much about being PC. You're gay yourself so who cares about being offensive. If I feel like refering to us as queers, fags, or anything else I will.

We're all still learning about the being gay thing and by you just being here, you're sure to absorb some stuff in. I've learned that you can be new at being gay, but you're not new at being you. So just be that before anything else and you should do ok.

God that sounds like an after school special. Welcome!

Welcome

Hey guy, I know the feeling of rural Iowa, try
rural Nebraska. Town of 325 people and be the only
gay kid. That was years ago for me. I moved to the
city as soon as I was able and have enjoyed life
of the "gay community" since.
welcome to Oasis.
Oldfoxbob
you are loved.

Your town sounds almost exact

Your town sounds almost exactly like mine. I can't wait until college, because I've always liked the city more. I moved into the small town two years ago, from a city. It's about as interesting as watching flies hatch from a rotting body. lol
