It depends on where in the US
It depends on where in the US/Canada you are talking. British Columbia is 4.5 hours behind Newfoundland, same goes for California and Maine I believe. There are lots of websites that will show you maps/clocks to help you figure out time differences though. Try googling time zone map or something like that.
