Like so many things, it is as good or bad (both in the sense of morality and enjoyment or fulfillment) as the intentions and motivations of the person or persons involved. I can imagine a perfectly wonderful and morally-perfectly-fine kind of masturbation as well as a sordid, pathetic, sad, and depraived kind. It can be the result of confidence and contentment or the biproduct of misery and lonliness...and what can be satisfaction in one circumstance can be absolute turmoil and frustration purely based on the motivations or situations that were realized...or not.

I don't think that masturbation in itself indicates health or un-health...it is just one more part of life, or non-part of life, in the big bucket of living that is, in itself, rife with good, bad, gross, and, well, "other"...

Masterbation is Canada's favorite past time :P
