This is a sequence of three poem between The Dark Lady and her lover. The Dark Lady is my muse, and I borrowed her from Willy Shakes.

The Dark Lady Sequence

The Dark Lady

Drape your velvet skirts around me
Silent lady of the night
Envelope me in sultry blackness
Help me blot out all the light
Draw your hands across my face
And take my heart, my dear, I'll give it
Pull me closer to your breast
You are my dream, I want to live it
Part your voluptuous crimson lips
That stand bloody in the moon's sweet face
Bring your star bright eyes to mine
Pull me to your hot embrace
Snow white flesh of alabaster
Is the hand that in mine slips
Hand I desire and all that's with it
Body, face and ruby lips
Draw your curtain tight around me
And take me beyond the world I know
Spread the cloth of night about me
Hide the sun, no one will know
Spark the stars within my soul
Press your flesh against my heart
Tell me all I wish to hear
Find my dead pulse and bid it start
Drape your velvet skirts around me
Silent lady of the night
Envelope me in sultry blackness
Help me blot out all the light

The Dark Lady Speaks

One who calls me with a glance
Seeking black-clad night romance
One who calls me wondr'ous fair
Praises my eyes and lips and hair
Calls on me to block the light
Calls me belle of boundless night
One who caresses my sable form
One who comes to keep me warm
Through the cold enveloping dark
One who calls my voice a song to which all must hark
I seek your heart and you seek mine
We seek refuge from oppressive sunshine
You long to clasp me to your chest
To lose yourself in my dark breast
You entreat me to start your pulse afresh
You long to stroke my heaving flesh
You follow me into the black
Follow me, no turning back
Leave the sun and earth behind
Part night's curtain and you'll find
All the things of your desire
Come to me, I'll light your fire

Reply Of The Twilight Lover

When the 'cursed sun shines above
Never can I find true love
You are not there, my hopes are gone
Of you, my black draped Amazon
But when the sun begins to set
My appetite begins to whet
For you, my mistress of the night
Temptress draped in pale moonlight
Through the day I long for you
Your face, your lips, the things you do
When the twilight comes at last
When the hated day is past
You come to me, fall in my arms
Seducing me with your dark charms
I've longed to hold you for so long
To you, my dear, my heart belongs
Ever I will love the night
And the woman beyond earthly sight
Ever will I loathe the sun
And live for time when day is done
Sweet black maid of my desire
Burn through the night in our love's fire

That's so beautiful, and haun

That's so beautiful, and hauntingly romantic-I love it! I swear, you've truly got the gift of poetry:)

I’m not as sad as Doestoevsky,
I’m not as clever as Mark Twain,
I’ll only buy a book for the way it looks,
And I'll stick it on the shelf again.
