The year is 199X. Two boys are sitting in front of a tree. One
of them climbed up the tree and said, "Hey! I can see my house
from here!"
The other boy said, "Well, of course you can see your house from
here. Your house is right next to this tree up the hill."
The boy in the tree is Nathan. He is 7 years old. The boy leaning
against the tree is Greg. He's 8 years old. The 2 of them have been
close friends since they were extremely little.
All of a sudden, a strong gust blew and Greg said, "Hey! Let me up
there!" and Greg climbed up the tree and instead of looking out to
the house, he looked out to the field filled w/ red and yellows,
and oranges. And under his breth, Greg must have gasped of said
wow and that's when Nathan turned around and said, "Oh. That's
just the field during the fall. It's nothing special."
"Nothing special!? It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!
I mean, this is the thing that artists always dream of painting,
but can never capture the beauty of it all."
"I guess you find it special because you don't see it day after
day."
"Even so, I would still enjoy seeing it so much. If I lived here,
I would never get tired of looking at it."
"Are you sure about it? Staring at the same thing day after day
and managing to keep the same opinion each time you look at it?"
"Of course! But the reason why I could stare at it day in and day
out is because you may not notice it, but that field changes every
day. But it's going to take a while until you see a natural
drastic change."
"I guess so. I've never really looked at it that way. But this
isn't the reason you came over so often is it?"
"Of course not! I love coming over because it let's us have
fun together. I like you Nathan. You really are the best friend
I could ever have."
"I'm glad. And I hope that it stays this way for as long as we
are living."
13 years later, Greg and Nathan have lost touch because Greg's
parents have divorced and remarried. Neither of them took the
time to maintain the relationship. Why? Who knows? But this is
all bound to change sooner than you think...
End Part I.
