Happy July, kids!
My summer's been going pretty well and I've been keeping pretty busy, and I wanted to let you in on what's been going on since my last posting. It's been a rollercoaster of adventures, excitement, drama, romance, deception, lies, cover-ups, and conspiracies...well, not really. But read on, anyhow. ;)
I have to say, not being slammed with things to do has been a nice change of pace. As you may remember, I was conducting a musical and getting ready for the gay men's chorus concert, along with other work and life-related responsibilites. Since my musical commitments are over with, I can take it easy and do what I want to do. And so far, that's been what I've been doing.
My boyfriend and I have been spending a bit more time together, which is always nice, since he's such a delightful person. Yesterday, we took a daytrip to central Oregon to see some of the sights there (most notably, the Three Sisters). We took some pictures of our adventures, and I hope to have the pictures developed by weeks' end.
I'm continuing to lose weight, although I think I'm about to hit a plateau. Since starting work again a couple months ago, I've been losing weight at work and not going to the gym. Now, I fear that I'm going to have to start going back on a very regular basis. Blech.
Things at work have been slow, and I'm not liking that. Although last night, the restaurant was pretty busy and I made a little more money than I thought I would. And to top it all off, I scored a free dinner at the end of my shift. Woo hoo! Things will pick up here before too long, and before I know it, I'll be raking in the money. At least I hope.
In other news, I've made a major life change. Are you ready for this? Ok, well, here goes....
Momma has stopped drinking.
Yes kids, it's true. I've stopped drinking the booze for good. And no, it wasn't because of some big incident where I made an ass out of myself (though there have been plenty). I just decided that it's probably the best thing to do both for my health and for my wallet. And really, the changes have been nice. I'm not so tired, I feel better (both physically and emotionally), and I have a VERY much increased sex-drive. Go figure! :)
Tomorrow I may go out with one of my good friends. We grew up together back in Eastern Oregon and we both moved to Portland about a year apart from each other. I found out earlier this year that he was recently diagnosed as HIV+. He seems to be doing fine with it, and he knows that I'm there to support him however I can. He's started meeting POZ people online and has dated a few, which is a really healthy thing, I think. No use in sitting around and not doing anything. I'm glad he's dating guys and doing all the things he loves to do.
Well kids, that's about it for me. I've gotta go work out (yuk) and get my day into high gear. This is my weekend, and so I hope that I can make it a productive one. We'll see. As always, be nice and behave, so you don't turn out like me.
