Mislead by My Heart

You made me so happy in the past,
Embedded yourself into my soul so now I feel this will never pass

Yet as time goes by and things change- I realize the harm being done
You’ve bruised my heart, left the laces undone and now all i want to do is run

Against my common sense i wait faithfully and loyally- hoping you will come around
Weighed down by heavy heart i sit on the ground...listening to my heart pound

It aches to tell its story- but knows there’s neither hope nor point
Scarred by the fury and torn by its truth

Yet my heart and I wait- faithfully and loyally
Blinded by hope and mislead by memories of our past
