I really appreciate your words of confidence/wishes of good luck (rp, check your inbox). I am nervous about this whole thing, because it's something I've never done before. Plus, I don't know where it'll go...

To avoid appearing desperate and to preserve my own safety, I have come up with a few rules. One kind of strange one is, for a little while, I'll only communicate over the site. Once one person pays the mail charges, all further messages between two people are free. While talking on MSN is great (in fact, both pieces of mail I got within a few days just said their MSN names and an invite to chat), I'd like to get to know them a little better first on an anonymous basis. My MSN address will give my last name, which is pretty distinctive, and I don't want anyone showing up at my front door unexpected.

Since I appear to have stoked some interest (or maybe I'm just writing this for myself, I dunno), I'll do an update now. There are three guys I've made contact with (or have made contact with me) that are 1) About my age (18-23) 2) In or about Toronto 3) Don't sound completely creepy (which is important, of course).

Also, I got my picture up, something I've been unable to do at Oasis for some reason, but that's another issue. So, I know that these guys are attracted to my picture, at least. Well, it is rather a good picture of me...

OK, the three guys so far, in order of my interest from lowest to highest...

1) He mailed me before I even got my picture up! I must have done some good writing on my profile. Also, he didn't send me a free "smile" first, but got write to the mail that costs money. Strange... He sounds OK. He doesn't write a lot, and what he does write hasn't particularly impressed me. Also, he has a "backstage," but he hasn't granted me access to it. So, I haven't seen any pictures of him. I don't mean to sound shallow, but let's face it, looks are important. He doesn't have to be model quality (though that would be awesome!). I just want to be attracted to him, and I'm attracted to all kinds of guys.

2) Again, he doesn't have a picture. He gave me his MSN, and said he'll show me a pic then. But, see above for why we haven't chatted on MSN. He sounds pretty cool, if he sometimes says things a bit strangely (I think he misused the word rhetorical in a message to me. I had no idea what he meant). Anyway, I get more of a positive vibe from him then the first guy. Still, I think I need a picture of him to complete the, um, picture.

3) He has a picture up, and he looks cute. I'm attracted to the eyes a lot of the time, and he has nice eyes. Or, at least in that picture. Anyway, I sent him a free "smile" and he sent me one back. I felt good about him (from pic, profile, etc.), so I bit the bullet, bought some credits, and sent him mail. He messaged me back, telling a little about himself. I think he's the only one of the 3 to say he's straight acting/looking. That's not a requirement for me (I'm not a hater, just a preference). I'm just curious. I have a really good feeling about him. I feel comfortable giving my MSN to him... well, maybe after another exchange of messages.

While writing this, I got a couple of smiles from two other guys. No pics (dammit!), but one of them sounds pretty cool. I'm tempted to write him back... but I have to think about it. Maybe I'll smile back and see if he'll foot the bill! ;)

Whoa, that was a lot of writing. I wrote it so I could look back in a few weeks/months/years to see where it all went!
