Melissa Etheridge and other stuff

Okay...I don't know if I just missed this is the time I was away traveling, but I just found out that Melissa Etheridge has breast cancer...goes to show that no one is immune from the crappy parts of life. I'm glad to hear that they caught it early and that she should be fine... Melissa's a wonderful asset to the gay community. If this is news to any one else, you can read more about it on her website, http://www.melissaetheridge.com

Onto other news...I'm having to make arrangements now for Christmas break. I can't believe I only have 4 weeks of classes left and 2 weeks of finals before I go home!! I'll be at my dad & stepmom's for Christmas this year so I've been trying to figure out the best way to do that visit and still be able to visit with my girlfriend at some point for a week or two over break. (and still spend time with my mom.) At first I was hoping Alice (my gf) could come down to San Antonio while I'm visiting my dad, but then I realized how there's really no extra room in the house, and we'd want our privacy. ::blushes:: My dad said that my grandma said Alice could sleep at their house (and I could spend a few nights there too), but I'm thinking that might be kinda awkward...I don't know how much my dad/stepmom told them...I haven't come out to my grandparents yet.

ANYWAYS...I still need to contact Alice so that we can maybe set up some tentative plans...Long distance relationships suck, especially when one or both people are not always easily contactable!

Okay...I'd better go write up my history essay now. It's not due till Friday, but I have about 4 other essays/papers to write, 2 of which are due next week.

Ta-Ta for now!

News to me

That was news to me as well. My reason it's as good as yours: I live under a rock or so it seems. I'm glad she should be fine. :)

You have two weeks of finals? Icky.

I knew about it...

When she first announced it. She has had two surgeries and the next step is chemo. She cancelled the rest of her tours for this year but she hopes to be back in 2005. Which is awesome. She became a last minute show on the cruise my moms are going on in April.
