Lily, Robbie Kirkland

Hey everybody! My good friend Lily (AIM: pumpkincakemoose) has a good friend who has a website and she set up a forum for Lily. The forum is centered around gay rights, marriage, and sex. I've already posted something on the marriage topic. Check it out.

I was exploring Google's features and typed in "link:www.oasismag.com" to see who all links to Oasis and I came across this site. It's a site in memory of a child who committed suicide because he could not stand the ridicule. It's a shame that some people feel the need to take themselves out of life because it temporarily is too much for them to endure. If only America and its leaders weren't so homophobic perhaps this nation could progress to another era of enlightenment.

On this site is posted some of Robbie's poems. Here are two that I found to be powerful.

I'm Dying and No One Cares
I try to stand and walk
I fall to the hard cold ground.
It feels as if to life I'm no longer bound.
The others look and laugh at my plight.
Blood pours from my nose, I am not a pretty sight.
I try to stand and again but fall
To the others I call
But they don't care
The pain is unbearable
The world is not fair
I'm lost and cold
I wish one would lend a hand to hold
My tears mix with my blood
The end of my life
It nears
I'm Dying and no one cares
The pain. The pain.
THE PAIN!
I scream in pain!
My body shakes in violent spasms
I cry out in pain again!
I scream
My blood pours like a stream
I'm Dying and no one cares
I scream in pain one last time
and then it's over.
I am Dead and no one cares.

Death
Death is neither love or hate,
but a cruel demented twist of fate,
We lose those we love
And pray to God they go to heaven above
We hurt the ones we love the most
How can we wake up and eat our buttered toast
We mourn and cry,
But somehow, someway we will get by.
People kill
Blood will spill
We don't like to wait
But alas it is too late.

Wow

Those are extremely powerful for it is often too late. :( I do think that it is tragic how some see suicide as their only outlet. Things will get better; at least that's my philosophy. Thank you for posting these here. It's a reminder that America needs to become more liberal and less homophobic. Less -phobic period.

Wow, very moving site, I hone

Wow, very moving site, I honestly couldnt look at it for very long. Having been in that position myself, although lucky enough to survive, I still find it difficult to look at stuff relating to suicide. Thanks for sharing.
