Anyone into music?
things like that?
A quick scan through my record/CD/mp3 collection:
The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Who, Nirvana, Counting Crows, and Damien Rice. My music taste is always evolving though, so later on this list would probably include Sonic Youth, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. After that, who knows?
I love myself better than you, I know it's wrong - so what should I do?
sex pistols ?
any more recent stuff?
i saw sterophonics live the other week, fucking mega.
and ocean colour scene.
you heard of black rebel motorcycle club?
The Sex Pistols are a bit to nihilist for my liking. I owned 'Nevermind the Bollocks...' last year but gave it to a friend for her birthday.
Though my city (Tucson) has a thriving underground punk scene, I'm not into it like my peers are, because all the bands sound alike and are influenced by the likes of Blink 182, Good Charlotte and Linkin Park.
And Led Zeppelin rocks, I just wish my father sold his Kinks records and kept the Zeppelin and Elvis Costello ones instead. :(
Never heard of Stereophonics or Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Maybe when I go to Toxic Ranch next week I'll look for them.
"I love myself better than you, I know it's wrong - but what should I do?"
Most of the punk bands in my town are more influenced by AC/DC, ect. Or ska bands.
But I agree.
Lots of new punk bands copy pop bands like Good Charlotte.
You just have to delve a little deeper.
Until you find a different scene.
i like ska
i like reggae
DO NOT TALK TO ME ABOUT SKA PUNK
OR SKATER MUSIQUE
UNLESS YOU WANT A SLAP THAT IS
Something Corporate, Kittie, DOPE, VNV Nation, Wumpscut
Skinny Puppy, Volataire, Orgy, Dashboard Confessionals,
Mindless Self Indulgence, The Verve, Placebo, Rasputina,
Garbage, Killing Hannah, Dead Kennedys, No Doubt (cause Gwen is so hot)...gah I dunno it depends on my mood.
Though their music is more commercial than it used to be, they're alright in my book.

Yep, music makes the world go round. Well so does money. And the orbital axis. Anyway, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Led Zepplin, and Journey area all in my collection. Among others.

vast, new order, boy sets fire, afi, machine gun fellatio (oh how did that get in there haha... nah they're cool), muse, tool, nin, placebo, apc, dashboard confessional, deftones, something for kate.....
this could go on and on and on
i like sex pistols more for what they were trying to achieve than their actual music (read the biographies, people were fucked up, but then so were the times i guess)
pink floyd are legends... they are the reason a lot of music has progressed into what it is today, in many different genres. i saw the concert for 'the wall' tour when i was a kid on video, and it was the best show ive ever seen.
zepplin, well.... im a guitarist :) no more needs saying.

Q: How many punks does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. Don't you know punks can't change anything?
My apologies to all that joke may have offended.
"Light my candles in a daze 'cause I found God."
bite me :)
know what you're talking about, then come back to me ;) i dont mind debating these things with people who know what they're talking about.
being born in 89, and not in the UK doesnt give you much ground to stand on with this debate ;) one of my very good friends grew up when and where the whole sex pistols thing took place.
hearing about or having personal relevant experience makes you see things from a different angle.... as im sure you're aware.
have fun :)
