Geoff Ryman - Lust (or No Harm Done)

Lust turned out to be one of the most fiercely original novels I have every had the pleasure of reading. It manages to surpass it's pulp fiction sounding plot (making carbon copies of whoever you want to shag.. heh .. a threesome with a clone of myself and colin farrel .. mmm) and turns into one of the most gripping novels I have ever had the pleasure of reading.

It's not a book about sex.. it's a book about desire, the nature of desire and the effects of desire (both requited and unrequited). It is a modern masterpiece , simply a must read.

There is a very dangerous combination of things afoot..

1) I have little (i mean NO) impulse control
2) I know my credit card number by heart
3) Exclusive Books (my favorite local bookstore chain) sell books online at prices that won't break the bank (unlike importing stuff from amazon).

I also got my copies of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac and Squee.... yay Jhonen Vasquez.

"Invader's blood runs in my veins, like giant radioactive rubber pants."

Oh , i should mention all the new content on my personal site. Not for the feint of heart *snigger*.

Yeah

I couldn't get over how amazing the book is. The book seems to be about sex, but it really isn't. It's all about desire and the things people have to deal with because of it. I suspect that it won't get read by a lot of people because it's a gay book. Maybe I'm way off about that though. I wanted to lend it to a friend, but I'm not sure he'll read it because it comes across kind of as smut, even though it isn't.
