So folks, this is some Oasian style drama for you. I have been a little preoccupied as of late - I mean, I am writing a thesis, volunteering like a fiend, conferencing and writing potentially publishable papers - and then I met this girl... Right, so the rest of that has temporarily gone to shit. I've been distracted, ok?
h> Will you go out with me?
j> I don't know. Will your mom drive us places?
h> Actually, I have my own car.
j> Oh. How late are you allowed to play at night.
h> I'm allowed to set my own curfew.
j> Do you know how to play marbles?
h> No, but they're pretty.
j> Okay. Um, will you let me wear your slap bracelet?
h> I don't have one. But I make my own jewellery. I'll let you wear that.
j> Will you share your fruit roll-ups at recess?
h> Of course I will.
j> Well, are you sure you want to go out with me?
h> Depends what's in it for me.
j> I'll let you ride my bike Mondays and Fridays.
h> And your books?
j> You want to ride my books?
h> No, read them, silly.
j> Oh, okay. Especially the Choose Your Own Adventure ones.
h> And your Nancy Drews?
j> I guess. What do I have to do if I go out with you?
h> Will you hold my hand in public?
j> Everywhere except the Southern United States.
h> And will you let me play with your dinky car collection?
j> Do I have to share every dinky car?
h> Yes. And you have to wake up early to watch Saturday morning cartoons with me.
j> Okay. Will you make me pancakes, though? I always watch them with pancakes.
h> Well, we'll have to ask my mom if we can turn on the stove. And then how to make them.
j> If she says we can't, we could use the Easy Bake Oven.
h> And could we have chocolate cake, too?
j> Only the kind with cholestorol.
h> So it's a deal then?
j> Yeah, but we have to seal it with a spit shake.
h> So we're going steady?
j> Yeah. I like you.
h> I like you, too.
This girl, she rocks. And thus, our sandbox has been oscillating between Montreal and Ottawa, leaving me little time for writing, but having lots o' fun. Oh so much fun. I heart cartoons, and karaoke will always be my first love. Oh sweet karaoke.
