OPP

I'm at work now. It's my boring shift but this time its not that bad. Someone left a set of headphones buy the computer so for the first time I'm able to listen to music instead of the endless silence of an empty computer lab in the basement of a random academic building. In order to find songs I must browse the network and look through the public offereings of people I know and don't, remenicing along the way.

The Earl of Shaftsbury has a fine collection of Mp3's on his computer; music that I have, music that I want and music that I've never heard of. As I browse thought the massive list of weel organized MP3's I'm going through a rrememberence. I'm seeing songs from a long time ago. I listened tot eh Hupty Dance for the first time in a long time. I remember hearing it on he radio and from the other kids on the block when I was somewhere around seven or eight. People's faces entered my mind that haven't been there in a while.

Naughty by Nature: I remember in first or second grade when "OPP" was popular, the nice NTA would lead us in "Are you down with OPP?" "yeah you know me" while we lined up to we could come in from recess or to enter the building when school started. There was another NTA (the head one, kinda racist) who would reference everones favorite baby from 'Dinosaurs'. "NOT THE MAMA! Who's NOT THE MAMA?"
Everybody would be entertained and eventhough I hated that school with a passion and it was ussually to cold for one to keep 100 children outside, standing still, until they stopped talking, I;m looking back that with a little nostalgia. Not really because I enjoyed it but because remembering makes me realize how different I was at the at age and at the same time how much of the little boy I was then stayes with me. It's nice to remember those things sometimes. I tend only to remember the bad.

Oh my look at the time, my shift is over, it's been nice writing but I must eat.
